King Chamber Board Members Attend Budget 2023 Open House
Chamber Board members attended the budget open house on Tuesday January 17, 2023, representing the views of small businesses to various departments about priority issues for the 2023 budget. The new financial plan lays out the key actions, investments and programs the municipality will lead, guiding the next phase of King Township’s development, and where investments will be made. The Chamber has endorsed the plan for growth and infrastructure in the villages and transit corridors, and further advocates for supporting the small business community by investing accessible parking, wayfinding, community improvement programs, climate change mitigation initiatives, supports for entrepreneurship and placemaking events.
Businesses and residents alike share an objective of ensuring the Township develops healthy, complete and prosperous communities, now and tomorrow. The Chamber looks forward to working closely with community associations, residents and municipal staff to find collaborative solutions for our collective future.
The Chamber has released the following position paper on the 2023 budget, and will be speaking at the Council session on Monday February 6.
